"Not even gonna look at me, eh?" Sophie asked as she looked out the blackened window at LA rushing by.

AJ fumed silently in the back of the limo, not looking over in Sophie's direction at all. He had given her the silent treatment since she met him at the gate with a small phalanx of Death Records Security. The Security was partially for crowd control in case it leaked out he was coming to town, and mostly to make sure he made it back to Swanage, Swan's private Mansion in the Hollywood hills. It was far too easy for him to disappear in LA, there were too many safe houses he could go to. Essentially, he would be under house arrest until the album was completed.

"I guess I wasted my time getting all dolled up for your arrival then."

No reply. Right then, she wished she had his gift of Telepathy, and could read exactly what was going through his mind right then. He was still angry she had set him up, that was an easy assumption, but his mood was far darker than that mere transgression warranted. Something else was bothering him even more.

Finally, she looked back over his direction when she felt his hot glare on her. His violet eyes were almost luminescent in the darkness of the limo. His eyes locked with hers, and for a moment held her transfixed. The cold sensation running through her startled her out of the trance and she threw up a mental block, preventing him from reading her thoughts further.

"Mind your own business AJ..." She said evenly.

He continued to stare at her, the gaze not menacing but cold indeed.

"You didn't totally erase your thoughts of him.... I know..." He said in a growl.

"Know what?" She asked feigning ignorance of what he was referring to.

"Don't play with me.... I know, and even if you had been successful at shielding your thoughts from me, I would still know..."

"Oh really?" She replied nonplused, knowing exactly to what he was referring.

"I can smell him on you...."

It was Sophie's turn to grin.
"Sinus's cleared up that much eh?" She taunted.

With a snarl and a move so quick no mortal could have made it, he lunged at her and grasped her throat in his right hand. Pressing her hard into the seat and against the limo door with his body, he moved his face inches from hers.
"Fifty bubble baths couldn't remove the smell of another man off of you. I will always know when you have fucked around on me."

Sophie remained calm, despite the iron tight grip his velvet covered hand had upon her. She had seen this movie many times before.

AJ looked up quickly from Sophie's inert form when the limo came to a smooth unexpected stop. A glance out he window revealed they had arrived at Swanage.

"Dammit." He swore under his breath. He would have to think and act fast. Gathering her up in his arms just before the driver opened the door, he smiled pleasantly at the chauffeur. "Poor thing, fell asleep." He whispered as he stepped out of the back of the limo and began to carry her inside.

The driver merely nodded and watched as he passed, then closed the door, and went to put the car in the garage.

Hanson, the butler opened the door, and smiled as AJ entered.
"So good to have you home again sir." He said with a slight bow.

"Is Miss Sophie not feeling well?"

"Huh? Oh her! Fell asleep in the car. I'll just take her upstairs to my room and tuck her in."

"Very good sir. Mr. Swan has anticipated your arrival and is waiting for you in the study."

"Right, right. I'll be there when I get the chance." He said with a slight annoyance in his voice as he entered then exited the main foyer of the mansion, and started up the massive black and white marble staircase to the bedrooms on the third floor.

"Pompous limey busybody..." He thought to himself as he climbed the stairs.

"Spoiled bastard." Hanson muttered as he returned to the study to inform Swan of AJ and Sophie's arrival.

After removing her shoes, coat and other outer wear, AJ covered Sophie up with the comforter on his four poster king sized bed, and placed a kiss on her forehead. He smiled as he looked down at her.
"Nighty night sweetie. I'll see more of you later..." He smirked.

Before leaving the room, he went over to one of his many dressers, and from a hidden compartment in one of the drawers, produced a small black leather wallet, about the size of a diary that zipped shut around the edges. He tossed it up into the air, caught it and made a beeline for one of the bathrooms adjacent to his bedroom suite.

Ten minutes later after cleaning up, and the heroin was coursing though his veins giving him a better than average buzz, he left his bedroom, and strolled down the hall of the upper floor of the mansion.

"Nice to be home again..." He sighed.

Once she heard the door to AJ's bedroom close, Sophie opened her eyes, and grinned.

"Now you get yours you little shit."

She threw off the comforter, and left his rooms to go to her own. She had lots of things to do yet that night, one of them was to place a call to New Orleans.

Swan watched silently as his protégé' of these many years strolled into his office, hands stuffed in the pockets of his black ghi pants acting fully his role as cock of the walk. He looked over at Swan as he plopped down in the leather overstuffed chair in front on Swan's desk and smiled.

"Say Swan.... What's up man..."

"I think you already know....." Swan replied dryly, he was very restrained, despite his raging anger at AJ. He knew how to be patient, he would have his revenge.

"Yeah... doncha now.... The whole fucking place is bugged, you know all, and see all oh Mighty one..." AJ mocked, bowing in false worship.

"And what weak and disappointing entertainment it has been lately too..."

"Well, Swan, now that I am home, and Sophie is here.... You'll have plenty to watch."

Swan knew AJ was baiting him, but it was he who was the fisherman in this case, and he would not lose his temper.

"On the subject of your and Sophie's intermingling, I have seen enough for this tour."
